The Gravity of It All

"THE GRAVITY OF IT ALL" forty years of love between the two I ask him as she watches the television is it the sex? is it the money? is it the cars? is it the fact that you erased who you are to love and found purpose in the void? no, he says. I listened to my heart and got everything. I gave myself to her and she returned herself to me. later that afternoon I took a walk I thought about all of the times I listened to my heart and never got anything. I thought about all of the times I gave myself to someone and they gave themselves to someone else. naturally, since I've bagged nothing but cheaters, liars and the malign, I realized this was pointless as most of the females in my life had been.
