The Good Ship Lollipop

She was a little tyke who had a curly mop top in charge of her good ship called the Lollipop her crew was made up of lollipop kids all from the Land of Oz, not from the Land of Id They had just left Sweet Island with all their supplies of lollipops, lemonade, cakes, candies and pies to which Shirley the mop top told her crew to not lolly gag until their work was all through But her lollipop crew needed a sugar rush and didn't listen and once back on the ship they we're whisperin' Butch the leader was wanting to take over an addict for sweets he was a sugar eating rover Whereupon one of the lollipop kids resisted the mutiny idea and when he confided in Shirley he had a little fear Shirley said don't worry your secret is safe and after this you'll surely become my first lollipop mate It turned out Butch and his buddy's ate most of what was on the ship the plans of mutiny dissolved because they we're too sick Shirley said I warned you not to eat all that candy and cake now we'll have to sail somewhere because of all your tummy ache's So they all headed to Pepto Bismol Island where everything was pink even the hot sand grabbing a pitcher they went to the Pepto Bismol waterfall where they filled it up and brought it down the ships hall Where Shirley gave the mutineers the medicine and they got better but she couldn't trust them again, no not ever having to sail back again to Sweet Island to resupply her Lollipop Ship she sent them all back home to the Land of Oz on a hot air balloon trip Now it was just Shirley and her trustworthy first lollipop mate who needed to hire more lollipop crew who wouldn't eat so much cake so they sailed far away to find a new crew from Looney Toon Island hiring a bunch of Bugs Bunny's who craved only carrots and danced hawaiian. 3-29-18

I agree w/Ravi ... such an imaginative poem, Che. Very creative and humorous. I loved Shirley Temple movies as a kid. This satisfying poem brought back those fond memories. Love and hugs.

Adorable, Cheryl. So imaginative and a delight to read and I know kids would especially like it. Made me want a piece of candy (which I'm eating now...lol).
