The Golden Gate

The Golden Gate

What is behind that golden door
The one our parents didn’t want us to see
Saved for the old it remains locked
My mind wanders as I look at the girl across the room
What does the door hide
What could be behind it that I should never see
For years I wonder
My mind fantasizes dreams that could never be possible
One night there is a kiss from a special girl
A touch of our hands
A look into her eyes as the shine in the moonlight
The golden gates open and I learn the secret
The secret which was so long hidden from me
I learn the secret of being in love
