The Girl I Loved
The girl I loved, my heart did seek,
But her secrets, I could not peek.
She wore a mask, her truth concealed,
And my love for her, was quickly peeled.
Her words, so false, yet sweet and kind,
Made me a fool, so blind and blind.
My heart was broken, my trust betrayed,
For her love, I had been swayed.
I know she's a cheat, another man she'd greet,
My heart crushed, as I watched, defeated.
Yet still I hoped, one day she'd turn,
And love for me, her heart would yearn.
She begged for his love, with tears in her eyes,
My soul broke, as I tried to realize.
I told myself, she'd change one day,
And our love, no longer betray.
But deep within, I knew 'twas true,
She'd never love me, as I love her, so true.
Yet I hold on, to this foolish,
As the long pain began to nourish.
The pain inside, I could not hide,
My emotions, I could not confide.
A lesson learned, from this false love,
To guard my heart, with a glove.
