The Gifts of Creation

As I sadly left the greenery of mountain side and verdant valley, a gift of three was given to me,three pairs of animals wild and free. The first couple to cross my worn path were two crows upon the grass. Their squawking antics bringing mirth a mated pair upon God’s earth. The second pair two chestnut deer, no antlers marked there passage here Adventure’s lure the gentle hart, Sir Gawain’s companions at Camelot’s start. Last to appear from the Lord of love A pair of Cardinals red as blood. to show me balance is what I need, to connect the spirit with the deed. For sky and earth and sea, I shall praise Lord God the Almighty, for all the bounty given me, I shall praise the Lord God Almighty. For fire and metal, gifted free, I shall praise Lord God the Almighty, for all the bounty given me, I shall praise our Lord and God Almighty.

I like your poem about nature. I did not receive the same education that some people did or was absent when it was taught but I like your use of other writer's ideas. I looked after my grandson when he was an infant while his parents worked. He was so special to me. He has an inherited disease and it causes him to do things that normal people would not. I guess that I need say more. I wish that I could rock him and make it better but can't. Sara

I love your quatrains, Deborah, write more of those for me. I love nature, it is the innocence of innocent perception. Love too, to you!

Deborah, Your words flow freely and with good rhyme. You're right about balance. A good dose of God's words help balance even the most difficult life. Take care, friend. Lovingly, Dane
