The Gift of Silence

The Gift of Silence
There's silence in divinity of space
It’s God’s gracious gift to the human race
In Heaven, a place of seraphic peace
Angels sleep safe in our dear Shepherd’s fleece.

Heaven is an eternal silent night
Reached when earthlings soar in supernal flight
It’s where there’s nothing and no one to fear
Glorious silence of a hallowed sphere.

After natural process of life on Earth
Truly faithful come to what they deserve
The peace and grace that's behind Heaven's gates
There for us where the Lord God of love waits.

The moonlight and stars with comfort beaming
Show their love-light that's constantly gleaming
They're diamonds in the heart of those that pray
The gift of silence shall be theirs one day.

John Watt Date: 5/3/2022 5:00:00 PM Belle, I am reminded of the Revelation 8:1 passage where there was a silence in heaven lasting a half an hour. I love the silence and consider it a gracious gift from God. Not around the clock silence, of course; I do love the sounds of nature and music and the voices of loved ones and children laughing and God's people singing His praises. Half an hour of silence, perhaps it’s not all silence up there in heaven after all. It’s to be hoped we get to find out how it truly is when our judgement day comes. They got the covid from the youngest brother. He plays hockey. He got the virus from one of his team mates.
