The Gift of Memory
The Gift of Memory
Build me a little shack
here near this babbling brook.
Give me some time just to sit
here by the water and look.
Give me the time just to listen
to the bird’s and the brook’s harmony,
time to appreciate nature
and all that my Lords given me.
Then when my days seem so busy
that time seems to slip right away,
give me the gift of my memory
and the blessings I had yesterday.
