Oh Sarah, Well spotted, how observant with regard to my Harvest Moon Birthstone. It has indeed been entered in Andrea’s contest. Your generous words on this work mean so much to me. You have created a tanka of great depth and true feeling. Excellent in every respect Howard

Once I had this flower in my garden. It has a pungent smell, but quite nice. Once dried up, filling the vase is to no avail. Beautiful tanka...

Valsa, Yes, no amount of water or tears will bring back the once fragrant and elegant beauty of the gardenia or relationship. Thanks for the kind review of my work. Sara

Their aroma is so enticing. You do want it to last forever….just like a special love. Love the symbolism you portrayed. Hugs, SuZ

Why, thank you, Victor. My husband brought me three gardenias when we first started dating. I had mentioned how I liked them, so he brought me three blossoms from the ones in his garden. Sara

Thank you, Anna-Lise. The gardenias are gone for this year. Maybe next. I do enjoy seeing them and getting a whiff from a distance. I appreciate the visit. Sara
