The Gift
Oh, Lord, bestow me courage to cope up with life’s challenges
So that I may get over the life long hurdles.
Grant me the courage, My Lord, to stand up for what I believe in
In order to express my true beliefs without fear.
O Lord, I need peace of mind
So as to remain sane in this mad, mad world.
Grant me the patience which I have lost
So as to withstand the insults hurled at me.
Oh Lord, Oh Lord, in return I sincerely promise
If I cannot help anyone, at least I will not cheat anyone.
If I cannot love anyone, I will not hate anyone
And I sincerely promise, in return, My Lord.
If I cannot praise anyone, I won’t be jealous of anyone.
Oh God, I need your blessings forever, My Savior.
My Savior, give me no more gifts that I can’t wield it.
