The Giant

Few were as large as he The giant of our family Who ruled with stern hand, And from all around he did command A respect; and from every person rose What he demanded. Few were foes Of this giant man. But twas for fright or affection They pledged their hand? For there was a tenderness Beneath the man Only glimpsed by those allieged. Still, few could understand The tender giant.
