The Ganges

I dream of the Ganges , and her gentle cleansing flow, of reflections on its surface when the moon is hanging low. 5-25-19 Arbitrium Divisa Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Gregory R Barden  Original Poem "Dreams of India"

The Ganges is definitely her. All the rivers are feminine in Sanskrit. In Russian, they can be both female and male. Congrats, Connie)

This is the third poem I've enjoyed from you this morning and you've completely sated me poetry-wise. You picked an excellent 4-line excerpt. Another contest that I can't recall the placement for! I have seen your name in many impressive wins lately! You deserve them all and more. Have I told you how much I miss you? Love, CayCay

These sand dunes used to be created by the river Ganges during each summers every year and we used to do those evening boating enjoying some of the most beautiful moments near the Ganges side streams. Thank you dear friend Connie for this sweet little poem. I have placed a new song today. Hope you would visit my page. love and best wishes always....Ravindra

Your sweet poem refreshed my memories of those days, when I used to do boating on side stream of lovely river Ganges during the Summer months, while rowing not very big sand carrying boats by paying some small money to nearby boatman’s. Some of these moments became immortal, when I with my friends used to return late in the evening in the charming light of moonlight & the vast white sand heaps used to fascinate us to walk on them. ....concluded in next....

I never once thought of the Ganges as "cleansing" which proves how a different point of view is essential to the development of mankind! Well done! Aloha! Rico

I am doing my best to keep up Jennifer. My daughter has been away to the Big Island where she is moving. She had to help her husband unpack everything. My daughter and her daughters are living with me for the next month and a half and I have been very busy taking care of them while she has been gone. I am trying to catch up. Thank you for your sweet comment Jennifer. : ) xxoo
