The Game

We made another touchdown
Without a penalty
As children on the playground
Full of amenity

You made it to the zone
Again without a flag
We act the same when grown
In formation zig zag

Now we're at the field goal line
No fumble in our grasp
Stay inside the sideline
Three points again I gasp

Fun football scrimmage, Angie! If we can only avoid those flags and fumbles, we can usually do well in life. Thank you for mentioning this in your comment. Take care ~ John

I just realized I have a cliche in my poem, but I think I'll leave it because it's football. Thank you for reading and commenting. :) Peace, Angie

Cute rhyme there, Angela: 'penalty and amenity.' And I like the point made about game-playing. Do we ever really 'grow up?' (Hope not!). Light and Joy, Gershon

Memories of old when we used to enjoy games. I used to prefer tennis though. Lovely poem. ~~

I love tennis too :) I thought I would write something different because it's football season. Thanks for commenting on my poem. Peace, Angie
