The Future Is Now

in shady glens the wild iris bloom like jewels strewn on dark velvet in shadows the forest keeps her secrets life abounds in its silence the fawn waits patiently leaves rustled in the wind-early man walked softly close your eyes and dream of places untouched by man the future is now

This is so cool. It feels like time standing still in past and present. Dreaming of future. Loved the way the whole thing unfolded. Congratulaitons, Barbara.

Nicely done Barbara! Unfortunately, just a little over 3% of the United States is untouched by man, according to then forest service and the Sierra club.

The beautiful places that are yet untouched by man eventually will become only a dream. I watched a documentary of plastic found in the untouched depth of the ocean. Very descriptive and I could close my eyes and walk the path. God Bless Phyl

I continue to dream of places untouched by man, dear LNC. Would have preferred to live in the time of early man. This is eloquent and powerful. Goes to my faves and I think it will be a winner. I won't have time to write for this contest, but did try John Freeman's and Carol's because I could write them quickly. I am out of town until Wednesday, but wanted to say hi. Will call you after I'm home. Love you and your poetry, Carolyn
