The Future Is Bright

Promises of the future shone brighter than today The air cleared, the fog lifted Lifted the mist from my eyes Promises of love and protection Passion and fury Ironic hatred of unfelt feelings Of misery, of passion, of pleasure Promises of heartbreaks Pain and remorse Of peep shows, pep talks and Mid night walks By moonlight, by candle My cradle and breast An unearthly suckling Will my heart arrest No cryptic clues No tangled secrets I am my own, and yours And that's how i keep it Sunset dies, moonrise begins My own is fated to a deadly sin Gluttony, Greed, Sloth or Lust I am fated to be alone until my moon dies
