The Food I Love
The Food I Love
To single out one special food
that really makes me smile
is difficult for sure because
so many are worthwhile.
But there's a yummy list for me
within a certain group;
those comfort foods I need and crave,
like extra creamy soup.
And mac and cheese can make my day
so filled with carbs and fat.
My heart beats "oh, please think of me...
my arteries filled with plaque."
Oh, pizza...topped with sausage, cheese,
stuffed crust and deep dish too;
or bacon-wrapped hot dogs on rolls
plus fries with barbeque.
Those pasta dishes of all kinds
heaped high with cheese and meat
and lots of bread and butter too...
a comfort food retreat.
Grilled-cheese/tomato sandwich packed
with bacon in the spread;
the calories are off the chart...
my doc would shake his head.
But comfort food is simply that...
it makes me feel so fine.
I help to lessen all the harm...
and drink heart-healthy wine!
