The Following Day After the Feast of St Valentine
It was yesterday Sunday
The feast of Saint Valentine's Day
We saw passing by classy women with gorgeous hips
Dressed up in pink and red
All the lovers were walking hand in hand
Like actors on the infrared
They were smiling and laughing as if they were heading
Towards the path to paradise to participate in the feast
Mother Nature was also pink and red, calm and at peace.
The next day after the feast of Valentine's Day
Things don't remain the same
Today, we can hardly hear the soft words of 'I love you'
That previously echoed in the peaceful streets. Everybody
Is going crazy and berserk like a bomb, in seconds
Will burst all the buildings and houses in town
Oh! Things change and the stars twinkle
In the sky full of anguish and stormy clouds
Love continues to challenge eternity and spontaneity
Lasting only for a few fleeing, fleeting and ephemeral hours
After the party, at times it's a resounding defeat or a bitter war.
P.S. To quote the Haitian proverb: "Aprè bal tanbou lou"/After the party, the drums are too drunk to walk.
