The Flip Side

Love and Hate,
Two sides of the same coin.
        Separated by a sliver of passion;
Hard to maintain.

Yet when the coin is flipped,
    Guessing heads or tails -
        The balancing boundaries mix,
Among joy & pain.

Often, this currency
    Exchange happens quickly,
        Sometimes seemingly at the
Speed of light.

Where momentum can
    Carry the fuel intensely,
        Burning all around or
Within sight.

This nature is
    Rooted deeply, buried
        Before friend or foe and
Predator or prey.

Lying somewhere between
    The visceral and emotional ...
        With a spring eternal,
Everyday.
