The First Raindrop - Guts and Gain
For a man to walk alone...in a city of millions
For a heart to be forlorn...in a world of billions
For a man to wander...purposelessly below his limits
For the soul to wonder...why it even exists
The first raindrop...fell to the desert earth
And as it dried up...it felt so close to death
But soon another one fell...then more rain came
And soon all those raindrops...collected into a powerful stream
It washed away the dust
To reveal his Grand Canyon
His mountain of troubles also didn’t last
For his beautiful Niagara Falls came down
So for a man to be out in the rain
Misfortune and shame his mantra
The first raindrop to fall into the ocean
Drew a rainbow from thunder
For a man to walk alone...in a city of millions
For a heart to be forlorn...in a world of billions
For a man to wander...purposelessly below his limits
For the soul to wonder...why it even exists
For a man to be alone...drowning his own teardrops
Raindrops fell to a desert dune...and flowed steadily into an oasis
So you’re not alone...maybe a bit dried up
You’re just thirsty for life...come on and drink up!
