The First I Love You

Release all my feelings,
and feel like a fool.
Shut down,
embarrassed,
he don’t know
what he do.

Writing these words,
I’m going too far.

I’m trippin.
I’m dealing
with loving,
done wrong
leaves a permanent scar.

Heart won’t stay silent.
It’s fully loaded.
Putting in work
to support,
this path
and this man
that’s been chosen.

Scared of these feelings,
these constant emotions.
Break down
and tell him
I love him,
then panic.

But after I show it.

He’s sticking around.
Surprising at first.
Til he loved me,
and guided
my eyes
to my worth
