The First Day

In the early dawn,
first day of the week ...
Rising of the sun

Was a day unlike any other
that has ever been,
or will ever come

It was the third day
since they buried
Jesus of Nazareth

All the faithful women said
someone rolled the stone away,
and took their Lord’s body

But two holy angels told them,
Fear not, fear not:
for the Christ has arisen

Savior of all mankind
has rose from the dead
Morning Star now forever shines

Resurrection
on the third day
Messiah has risen from the grave

Resurrection
on the third day
Jesus Christ has cast our sins away

The first day
is the third day ...
With His shed blood, our sins got paid

The third day
is the first day ...
Eternal life is now just a prayer away

Come see the bright dawn,
first day of forever —
Rising of the Son
