The Finches

They're singing. They are.
The finches. They sing beauty.
That tree is their house.
How charming! Birds, music, tree.
And the sun, friendly, like them.

I got to thinking maybe I had seen you here before, and sure enough, I found this poem that i commented on back in 2014 around this time. It's as pretty as ever.

What an upbeat poem, Ivo! Love the image of the birds singing in their tree house. Unfortunately, I live in the "Sunshine State" and the heat is overwhelming here already. It's only April! Hope the sun is more friendly this summer. LOL Love your poem. Congratulations on your win! Love, Carolyn

Thank you, i SAYS! I've just edited this. The word music being twice somewhat flustered me so I replaced it with 'beauty' the first time. & the sequence "Tree, birds, music" by "Birds, music, tree" Blimey! I hope I didn't mess up.

Hello Ivo, We often take nature hikes on local trails and the music of the birds fills the air. Yesterday we saw nests, a true sign of spring. Your poem brought back some wonderful memories for me. Unfortunately, the sun is not as friendly right now here in Florida. LOL Too hot, but it was friendly in the winter. Thank you for sharing this work with us. Best wishes, Carolyn (and my friend Sandra who also enjoyed this)

New Jersey! Wow. That ought to be a nice state. I've head about the Seminoles. Oh! Daytona! *sigh* FL rocks big time indeed! Thankyou for your view on my poem. I seriously was afraid of posting it.

P.S., My sister lives in Key Biscayne during the winter and is now anxiously sweating out her return to her summer estate in New Jersey. I'm an FSU fan forever. Go Seminoles!

Dear Ivo, Before retiring due to disabilities, I was a journalist and editor in Tallahassee most of my life! I do miss my home there, but had to get a smaller place. When my father passed in 2009, I moved into his cottage by the sea in Ormond Beach (near Daytona). Really loved your poem!!

Oh! I love Florida! Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Miami Beach, Clearwater, Tampa, Key Largo, Tallahassee. (Sigh). It is a paradise! The weather here (San Francisco) right now is 59 °F (15 °C). The same source says it's 87 °F in Miami. What a difference! I understand. I Thank you and Sandra for viewing my poem and sharing these nice words. Best wishes --Ivo.
