The Fight Within
We often lose the urge for peace,
Through long shadows obscuring light.
Where differences that make us great,
Won't stand with weakness to unite.
This can only lead to divide and separate,
Where mankind sees more or less.
With blurred vision moving forward,
Yet further away to transgress.
The battle becomes politically widened,
Between distant peoples, left and right.
Where conflict is seen among the cultural
and spiritual, that often incites.
Can our moral compass look beyond,
The needs of God, but to all of man?
Respecting the beliefs of others, not
Just the greed of a privileged clan.
So far, the winds of war, seem to be the
Ultimate climate, towards any seeds of peace.
Though my belief resides with the individual . . .
To win the fight against wrong, and a new lease.
I'm left to wonder and question, if we all
Can tolerate and peacefully exist?
Or are we destined to avoid any paradise,
Looking back at opportunities that were missed?
