The Face In the Window

The Face in the Window By Elton Camp Rachael was very rarely at home all alone But husband was on a business trip gone Kids with friends were spending the night So in a rare chance to rest, she did delight There was no dinner that she had to cook So she curled up to enjoy reading a book With her feet up and in the big recliner Rachel thought she’d never had it finer After a while the book dropped into her lap And she enjoyed taking a soothing nap She suddenly roused and was surprised to see That it was ten and how dark it’d come to be A noise that had roused her, she heard again The scary sound made goose bumps on her skin The den drapes Rachael had forgotten to draw In the window ‘twas a horrible face that she saw And to her horror, there was a tremendous crash As the prowler proceeded the window to bash And just as Rachel started to frantically scream, Then she truly woke and found it was a dream
