The Eyes Have It

Listen to poem:
Why are eyes so much the focus of our attention?
Nothing but tears emanate from eyes.
We make eye to eye contact, but eyes never touch.
We listen to what our eyes tell us, but eyes are deaf and dumb.
Even wild animals look into our eyes
and won't attack while we hold their gaze.
Lovers look deep within each other's eyes, soul searching,
their enraptured minds, boggling to and fro
in extrasensory perception.
The eyes have it, from birth to death.
Babies communicate with their eyes well before they speak,
When life is passing,
your life flashes before your eyes.
So, even at death's door
your eyes are the last to have it.
