The Extra Mile

Caterpillar in tender form
cocooned beneath a blanket warm
safe and sheltered in rain and storm.

inching in comfort zone...

But it wants to fly miles away
with red velvet wings, dance and play.
bring tomorrow another day.

wiggling out on its own...

That patient extra mile somehow
writhing in pain, trusting the now.
Oh! here comes the butterfly, Wow!

sky greets in next milestone...
