The Evolution of Music 3

Queen was royalty up on the high stage
Every hit, struck you right in the face
They were dynamite with a laser beam
Higher than cloud nine, but they did dream

Safe to say that none was like Kurt Cobain
His lyrics depressing and insane
And I used to like Nirvana the most
Turns out I was jamming to a ghost

They say that Jack Johnson's repetitive
Lulls them to sleep like a sedative
I could go for some banana pancakes
Because who in the world needs heartache?

Thanks Laura! Glad that we have similar tastes in music ... it's hard being in a bad mood listening to his music. Banana pancakes also sounds great on piano! :)

Like Andrea I know the first two. I like this series, music of our lives is steeped in emotion. There are memories attached that are intertwined with the essence of us.

I know that certain songs are so integrated into my life that just upon listening once, a thousand memories pop up in my head! Glad to see some music fans on the Soup :)

I love your banana pancakes imagery here. That last part was my favorite and I don't even know this guy jack Johnson, shows you how little I follow music. but the first two singers definitely I know about. I loved Queen!! I think you must have a great love for music.

Jack Johnson is such a good artist! (well I think so anyway)... listen to the song he has called Banana Pancakes... to put it simply it's basically "coffee house music"... very chill. And YES I do have a great love for music... you seem very updated on my work... I love your bubbly personality and of course your poetry as well :)

I take no offense... bananas are full of potassium, LOL! I've had quite a musical phases in my life... it used to literally drive me NUTS if I didn't know the lyrics to the song I was listening too... now it doesn't bother me so bad.

Timothy, i love the high dream of Queen's, wish some dreams had no end. And as for Nirvana, your line gave me goosebumps... only to know that I was stricken with an eerie feeling when I found out I was jamming to a group were the lead singer, guitarist, committed suicide by shotgun :-( . i'm gonna go for bananas myself.... always~ PD
