The End of the Road

You Own My Heart Walking away from you was a hard decision I wanted to spend my whole life with you I neglected the signs I had tunnel vision Our union turned toxic, I left to be whole I still believe that I will meet my soulmate You're a great guy and I still love you so But we weren't destined to be, it was fate I heard that you're doing well my love Who knew that we would do better apart? Sometimes I still feel like I can't breathe Because no matter what, you own my heart But I'm walking toward my healing a little at a time 1-3-17 Contest: End Of The Road Sponsor: Nicola Bryne

Clinging in the past will make you drown in your own pool of tears. Looking forward is the only way of drying out from the past's sopping mess. Very nice poem, Alexis.

I can't figure out for the life of me if you're happily married or miserable. Or perhaps, it's merely poetry. :)

Hi Paloma, I like to write about matters of the heart( the good, the bad and the ugly). To me that's poetry. I appreciate your support: -) Alexis
