The Edge of Life
The Edge of Life
The Heron stands motionless
feathers mimicking the leaves
of slowly swaying saplings
its stoic Buddha pose
silent in its presence
conflicts with its purpose
instincts wily wisdom
poised of necessity
on the edge of life
