The Echo of a Night

Nights of envy or lust
Lay upon my moon.
Is there a star hiding impressions
With a light doom?
Shadows are trembling like candles
Warm and pure
Yet so fragile, I can not touch.
In words I find cure
In darkness I rest
As my soul balances between reflections.
Bridges I can not pass,
A past of a lost consience
And I am afraid that if I sleep
You will hunt my dreams
My only way, the deadend you built.
So nights are passing through broken windows
Arresting promises I need to keep
As treasure.
My ships are hanging by the ocean's cliff
Rounding skies of freedom.
Expectations by emotions false,
As rain withdraws from this silence,
Like the dance we never shared
Beneath the starry sky.

In the third line from the end 'withdrows' should be 'withdraws'! Enjoyed your ambling, rambling discourse. That is what free verse is all about. Look forward to reading more of your poetry!
