The Eagle Cries Alone

A lone eagle flies toward the storm
His conscience crashing in his head
Loud enough to suppress the discord of
His country in turmoil

He knows not half of his countrymen
His inordinate comfort comes from
inexperience in governing
and inability to understand people's needs
which are spawned by his own pathology

Occupying a position beyond his meager awareness
He strides as if he owns the world
A make-believe king-fish dangling on his own petard
Yet he strides confidently toward his self-bestowed pitfalls

Unknown pitfalls mark his future
For now, we the people ignore nefarious events around the world,
but misinformation flourishes at home and bodies of established law fall
Truth and good judgment are plagued prisoners

Yet the eagle marches to an overwhelming drumbeat
Pounding common sense to the ground
Plotting to undermine laws that have passed the test of time

No one can run anymore, no one can hide
The expected Fourth Reich in America

 Is now in place.
