The Eager Eyes of Ego

We're calm and coherent
We Lie in our sleep
We cease to seize Love while on our knees--
Begging for our own self-destruction

Our will remains impractical:
A solemn, swift divide
Regret is the Ego's prodigal offspring--
A deceitful and feckless device of fulfillment

"We are the daughters of our mother--
Who loathed her husband and children"
Waltzing in somber circles, to a pitiless, timid tune
We perceive the pinnacle of peoples' putrid pride

Indulging inept self-indulgence
We are thieves of our indentured appetites
While lying in our wake--
Our eager eyes turn back, looking for more...
