The Drive Home

I tuck your hair behind your ears,
close my eyes and fall asleep.
I dream of the beach at night,
but your not there, just the stars and me.
I wake up when you move,
get out of bed and get dressed.
I kiss your head then I'm gone.
The drive home is my favorite part of the night.
Everything smells good and I'm wide awake.
I turn up all the stupid songs that play on the radio.
Get a little sad,
when I'm almost home.
