The Drifter
His face was so intriguing
Weathered and worn
Yet there was a kindness in his eyes
On a face of solemn and scorn
Skin aged with time and long grey hair
His eyes deep blue
Remained youthful
With a magnetic stare
I couldn’t take my eyes of him
I wanted to know more
About this mysterious stranger
So aloof and so sure
He looked over at me
His magnetic eyes locked in mine
I couldn’t look away
I was mesmerised by those eyes sublime
He got up and walked to the door
I watched him all the while
He stopped and turned around
He looked at me and simply smiled
Thiis mysterious stranger was gone
And even though we never spoke
I will remember that kind face and those eyes
For within me unexpected emotions he evoked
