The Dream

It must have been but yesterday
When I had dreamt my dreams
Now it feels like years have passed
Like millions so it seems

They say that nothing good can last
That life is but a joke
And when I think and ponder on
I know its truth they spoke

So days will pass and days will come
Another dream has died
Yet I wish it all back again
But in hope I feel no ties

I dream of riches and success
And talent to call my own
I wish for love and happiness
Again, I am all alone

So maybe I have thrown so much away
The battle I have lost it seems
But in the deepest part of me
I see sunlight in my dreams.
