The Dream
She closes her eyes...
and slips into slumber.
She assumes she’s awake
and begins to wonder.
Her thoughts unravel,
her mind drifts far.
She screams into silence,
alone in the dark.
The pain returns,
but she swears it’s fake.
She only wishes
they’d all go away.
