The Dragonfly

A dragonfly glided, through the courtyard of dreams, The most vibrant colours, I have ever seen. 24th June, was the incredible day, The best day of our lives, as we both would say. I married the woman, who brought light to my life, Who found me, who made me, and became my wife. Her smile would radiate, throughout the room, As the ceremony began, a little after noon. We walked outside, holding each others hand, A dragonfly appeared, on a wall it would land. Then it began, it’s most incredible show, The sun was so bright, its body would glow. Electric blues, and vibrant green, Iridescent wings, for all to be seen. The dragonfly danced, and swooped to the ground, On our wedding day, it’s show would be bound. The courtyard of flowers, and hundreds of smiles, As mesmerised eyes, would watch its style. From head to head, the dragonfly would kiss, And greet the guests, not one person was missed. The courtyard of love, my gorgeous wife, The family and friends, who mean everything in life, The memories we’ll hold, of that special day, The blue and green dragonfly, with its show on display.
