The Dragonflies Dance

She sat in the tall grass nestled among the lilies
Watching the dragonflies dance

The cool breeze swayed gently over, under, around
Embracing her in a soft caress

As she lay in the tall grass nestled among the lilies
Eyes watching her every breath

The trees swayed with passion, the dance of seduction began
The leaves dared to entrance

As she lay in the tall grass nestled among the lilies
The sweet sound of evening began

Her heart softly beating with the rhythm of the night
As she watched the dragonflies dance

Love it! Dragonflies are so beautiful, and it is so sad they only live 24 hours.

I just noticed that instead of replying to you, I replied to myself (I hate when that happens!, lol). I just wanted to say thank you for reading and I had no idea that dragonflies only live a short time....it is amazing!

Morning Linda! I was so very happy to see your comments this morning. I appreciate that you took the time to read my writing. This is also a great way for me to read the poems of other poets and get a little lost in their world. Z
