The Dragon of Dawn

I’m gonna getcha says the Monster of Morning, the Dragon of Dawn
I’ll get you now,
First, I’m going to threaten you with the impending doom of having
to get out of bed by awakening you just a tiny bit.
You know, by sending just a little light your way,
just enough to make you realize that I’m coming soon.

Then as you are lulled into a false sense of security, thinking that
you have plenty of time, I’m gonna sound the alarm,
that piercing, whining, no good horrible noise that screeches you
to attention. I’m gonna freeze you out by making you remove
those nice warm covers, so soft and comfortable
and make you get up. And don’t for one second think
that the old snooze alarm is your friend. I’ll take care of that too.

Of course, once you’re up and in the shower
and having your coffee, I’ll fade away.
But, not for long. I’ll be back.
I’m gonna getcha.
