The Dragon and the Remnant
A day is coming—glory bright,
No more sorrow, no more night;
No sickness, pain, no tear to be,
For death and grave shall cease to be.
The dragon comes with wrath and flame,
To steal, destroy, and bring us shame;
Yet God’s own remnant, tried and true,
Shall be restored, made whole, made new.
Though wretched we may feel within,
His blood has cleansed us from our sin;
Redeemed, restored, forever free,
His grace has claimed the victory.
We are His people, called by name,
Refined and tested through the flame;
The dragon seeks to crush, oppose,
To test the faith our heart still knows.
Yet we have Christ, our Priest on high,
Our steadfast hope who reigns on high;
In Him our anchor firmly stays,
Unmoved through dark and stormy days.
God’s remnant Church must safely stand,
Protected by His mighty hand;
Though pressed and tried on every side,
In Him we conquer, we abide.
Challenged, yet covered by His grace,
We press ahead, we run the race;
Not sitting still, but working on,
Till night is past and morning dawns.
We spread His Word of power and light,
To souls still wandering in the night;
Together strong, in one accord,
We labour for our coming Lord.
Stay focused—make your calling sure,
In faith and truth, we must endure;
The dragon wars in raging might,
Against the saints who stand for right.
From tribulation they arise,
Washed in the Lamb’s pure sacrifice;
Forsaking sin, made clean and whole,
They walk the path of heaven’s goal.
He knows His own, His chosen bride,
In holiness we daily abide;
For holiness must shape our way,
A living choice we make each day.
The dragon falls, his end is sealed,
To judgment’s pit he shall be hurled;
While we upon the crystal sea,
Sing songs of God’s great victory.
The song of Moses we proclaim,
Exalting God’s most holy name;
For Christ in us secures the win,
Perfecting hearts once lost in sin.
His Word we treasure, life and guide,
A shield and light we hold inside;
It keeps our hearts from turning wrong,
And fills our souls with holy song.
So let us love His Word each day,
And walk with Him along the way;
For sin shall lose its binding chain,
And we in victory shall reign.
The dragon then shall have no power,
Over the remnant in that hour;
All glory be to God above,
Forever crowned in endless love.
In God’s eternity we stand,
Redeemed to dwell in His fair land;
Night and day our praise shall rise,
To Him who reigns beyond the skies.
