The Doctor

The doctor came in with a smile that would light up a room
She called me to come in the back with her
She told my mother that she could wait
All she needed to do was run a few tests
I sat in the chair
She put some things on my ear
She said say yes if I could hear

It was understood that I was going deaf
I wanted so bad to cry
I wondered what my friends would say
Damn......I thought

The doctor said "your not deaf, but you can use a hearing aid"
I thought to myself "like thats really going to help, they aint gonna walk around
with a girl with a big thing stickin out her ear"
And for some reason the whole time she was talking she was smileing
I thought what is this lady smileing for

I hated it
I told her I wasnt putting that thing in my ear
She sat down with a case and opened it
She pulled out abot 5 diffrent size hearing aids
Some where small
And others where big
She showed me one that she thought was perfect for my ear
I couldnt agreed more
Then she said its diffrent colors
We picked the one closer to my skin tone

About a month later she called and said it was finally there
I couldnt breathe I wondered "why me?"
Here she comes with that smile and that cherry voice
I went to her office
And she explain everything to me
We she was done
I began to like her
And by her smile I knew she liked me to

Now I love to go to the ear doctor
Because I know she'll be there with that smile
Now I want to be an ear doctor thanks karen
