Pat Adams Poet Quatrain

The Dmv

After 4 years of a revoked license,
A remnant of my past mistake
We were headed to the DMV
Dreading how long it would take

I gave the lady my old license  
She slapped a sticker on right away
And then stamped it and pushed it back
"Wow!!", was all we could think to say!

The lady rolled her eyes at us
"Have a seat!", was all that she said
I looked at Judy and we laughed
It was funny, but our faces were red!

That happened about 18 years ago. I had a couple of speeding tickets but that's all since about 15 years ago now. It's kind of bad when almost everything you talk about includes a double digit year, but oh well..............
