The Dirt Road
We live at the end of a dirt road.
We are miles and miles from town.
There is no one around.
No one at all,
but the chickens in the barnyard,
the horses in the coral,
the cows in the meadow,
the ducks out on the pond,
a mouse in the kitchen pantry,
and a turtle in the back yard...
ever so slowly eating
grandma's fresh planted lettuce,
and
of course...
God.
He is everywhere,
you and I are at.
He is here, and there,
because He cares.
You are never far enough
off the main way,
that He does not know
where you are,
even under...
a star.
