the devotion to moments
mornings in your essence
calm zephyrs race from dawn
existence begins its first breath
the roosting night has begun its flight
i have been patiently waiting
for the light to claim its elegance
a stir becomes a promise
a face in a flutter
as eyes open, i whisper
twinkle, twinkle, little star
a wish has filled my day
brought my traveller
through the darkness
as the emerging light
exposes the smile i hold so dear
pity the poor in spirit
they have lost the magic
the devotion to moments
seek and find the enchantment
i learned this all long ago
from Pollyanna, choose happiness
miracles surround us
we just aren't paying attention
i am, the gift you are
in the first smile you wear
you can hear deep in my heart
the rooster greets day's inception
as lips meld deep within
the devotion to moments
