The Depth of Your Perception
The depth of your perception
Or the depth within your truth
Can leave you in deception
Even feeling so uncouth
I open up my mind to you
In hopes that you will know
Everything I will say is true
Through everything I will show
Will you peek inside
Or will you walk away
Are you the one to run and hide
Or are you the one to stay
Look in through my eyes
To tell me what you see
Even after many tries
You do not know me
Is it such a big surprise
That people are so different
We know civilizations rise
And some are very ancient
If you want to know me
All you must do is ask
Nothing you can get for free
So please bring me a flask
My mind is like a crystal
All thoughts I will refract
Fast as a shot from a pistol
But so easy to distract
Maybe you might know me
Then maybe you do not
Never try to hurt me
I’ll stop you on the spot
With this last verse
I will just have to say
If my writing’s any worse
Please just won’t you say
