The Demon In the Dark

The demon in the dark, standing in some lonely corner, winks with folded arms.

Does he know something we do not? Could it be, that he is there, waiting,

for us to make that wrong turn? Is it likely we will choose that pathway to sin?

Or will we take that other, less traveled one, called the way of self sacrifice?

That steep and rocky road, where so many turn back, in search of an easier way!

The one who can, like the Buddha, "think, wait, and fast", will cross the finish line,

where the prize, is in the knowing, that the end and the beginning, are the same!
