The Delivery Room

Expectant fathers will often pace Until nurse invites them into A bright delivery suite To see their baby born; Before they see birth Of their newborn, Some are out Cold on Floor. Soon, Revived Father acts Like all is well, Soon, is eagerly Passing out souvenirs Announcing their fatherhood Like they did all of the hard work Bringing new baby into the world! June 11, 2021 Dedicated to my fourth great-grandchild!

Congratulations on your fourth great grandson! Nice work if you can get it. A fun poem; liked the way you typed it out. Not easy to do.

Uh, it happens automatically when you write the poem and then center it. I couldn't be bothered doing that by hand. All of that indenting would wear me out.

Congratulations on your new great-grandchild! I like the part about the new fathers "passing out souvenirs, announcing their fatherhood, like they did all of the hard work." LOL.

You're right Milton, its the moms who do all the work. I remember waiting with all the expectant dads, nobody saying much all anticipated. Tom PS, hope you had a nice break in Florida.

I loved this poem. It was darling funny and somewhat true. I like your line at the beginning of the poem" Expectant Fathers" It was so clever to have your poem look like an hourglass. Enjoyed reading!
