The Death Threat of Love

Tears falling like raindrops, In a storm of doom. My heart breaks as I look into your eyes, I hear what your saying, But not quite believing it, As you tell me you love another. Even though I see a glimmer, Of hope but with no words I walk away. The days go by I'm learning to be alone, To be without you. So playing softball is my release, Across the field I see her, She waves and I don't. I pitch striking her out, She looks at me with tears in her eyes. I am confused not quite understanding. I find out after the game, From one of her friends, She was undercover and, The threat was against me. A death threat!! They convicted her 3 days ago , I bow my head crying, Thinking what she did for me. I look and see her running across the field, Right into my arms. I kiss her and, She says I'm so sorry baby, I couldn't chance it. Your the love of my life, I smile saying, yes. I tell her but you will always, Be the keeper of my heart.
