Inspired by The New York Times crossword puzzle on 3/20/24. Some numbers referred to specific things (420 --> Cannabis, 101--> introclass, etc.).

O’er March 14 pie crusts we kissed On 4/20 joints we could twist It’s hardly slumming When your date's coming May the 4th be with you for this tryst

Andrea, glad you liked it....this is one of the ones I got lucky with. It's funny that they sometimes can't quite get there (even with a lot of trying).

Very clever weaving of these important numbers in your life. What a date if 5/4 was one of them; just perfect. Another limerick with every line well thought out!

Thanks David. You are really something special here on PS. Dates on 5/4 could be very special indeed! This one took a few turns before posting it here.

Dear duke, you always come up with really fun and entertaining limericks that takes me on different journeys, like how you did with this one, with your use of “ cannabis” “ 420 “ may the 4th” is very clever and fitting for the theme that youv gone for and I absolutely love the picture too! How clever are your rhymes as well. I love this! Pleasure always reading your work. Sending you light

A funny limerick again. My limericks don't work out well, don't know how you do it. You make me laugh.

Hilda, I think the best thing is we get to share what we do, and it's great to laugh a bit. I have always been a bit of an engineer. This form suits that inclination. However, I can't do what you and many others do here. So, I guess that makes us even on some level--we're all limited in some manner. It's a good thing lest the head get too big.

You have a great imagination and this is always shown through your limericks...

SO, you are kind. I try to put the pieces together in a funny way. I think it's more perspiration. I haven't thought about imagination so much, but I should devote some time to pondering what that means. Thanks so much for everything you do here.

Hello Duke, your limerick captures our whimsical escapades like snapshots in time. Each line creates a fun scene of our carefree moments, from pie-crust kisses to shared joints. May the Force continue to guide our adventures. - Blessings, Daniel

Daniel, dates are funny things when paired with wordplays! Personally, I never much cared for 410 and its associated activities, but it is funny nevertheless. BTW, you are such a great summarizer. It is a wonderful talent that so many lack!

Creatively spun words, Duke. I like the play of words that form the essence of your poem.

Anne-Lise....I agree it's a bit weird. OK, so 314 (3/14 or march 14) is pi-day...3.14 being an approximate value of the number. 420 is either April 20 or 4:20 PM, both celebrated by marijuana smokers who partake at around that time in the afternoon after work and set aside April 20 for a day of general cannabis celebration. 5/4 or May fourth is a word play on May the force (be with you) for the Star Wars cult followers. (So sorry!!!)
