The Day My Life Went Dead

The day my life went dead As my tears flowed for my husband A bond from the heavens on the flight of a dove Unconditional love Perceived and felt first in my heart ~ Sickness ~ Has taken away With the release of a dove To be in paradise with his dad, brother and dear friend No longer does he suffer He is sheltered in perfection from all illness, pain, and sorrow ~ I grief ~ Drowning in tears I wasn’t ready for him to leave ~ I miss ~ Looking at the man that was my soulmate His whispers and his eyes of love when he’d say I love you ~ Though ~ I smile to know He still lives on in my heart His life has not ended ~ But ~ Started a new life in paradise I just would like to say I love you one more time 4/7/2020 Poetry Contest: The Day My Life Went Whacko ~ 151 Words ~ Sponsored By: Caren Krutsinger

A very heart felt poem. There are no words to describe this kind of loss. It rends the soul. To be able to say I love you one more time is a heart felt reminder that life is to short. I say it every chance I get.

A great win and poem. I love your line, "I just would like to say I love you one more time." Say it to him, he can hear you. Have you read, "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Buppo???? A true story. I love this book. I wish I could hug you so catch my hugs to you.........

It's a funny thing to be human where we share grief at our loss with the knowledge that the dearly departed are in a better place. I hope the memories of such a wonderful relationship are enough to see you through this anguish.
