The Day I Went To the Beach Alone
Sat on a beach, found myself alone
Funny how life has turned out this time
My legs are bitten then bitten again by flies,
Whilst my feet dangle listless in rock pools
As the sea laps against the sandy shore,
I am reminded of just how much time has passed
The sun is warm, trying her best to console,
With a breeze that speaks of a cooler time
Young girls laugh and swear above their years,
Whilst inside I sigh a sigh way above mine
A father plays in the break with his little boy,
I remember how much I miss mine
The scenery before me is beautiful though,
Aware of a gift that is heaven sent
However, today I feel is a sad day for me,
The day I went to the beach alone
